Mika Nenonen is a forward-looking industrial designer who has designed technology-driven products for over 20 years in both California and Finland. The tattoo of Fiskars scissors has been on his back his whole adult life. It’s a wireframe sketch, drawn on his skin using a large pair of scissors as a stencil.
I was always fascinated by the beauty of a pair of Fiskars’ Orange-handled Scissors. It’s so many things at the same time: it’s the most versatile multi-tool, it’s a precision-engineered sculpture, and for me it’s also a representation of the ultimate user interface.
